superbowl snack idea #5: if you have leftover toothpicks from #4
cocktail meatballs
ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup milk
1 tbsp parsley
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp pepper
1 egg
1/4 cup shortening
1 jar [10 oz] grape jelly
1 bottle chili sauce
instructions
mix ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, milk, parsley, salt, worcestershire sauce, pepper & egg. shape into about 1 inch balls. melt shortening in large skillet, brown meatballs. remove from skillet & pour off fat.
heat jelly & chili sauce in skillet, stirring constantly, until melted. add meatballs & stir until thoroughly coated. simmer uncovered 30 minutes.
personal opinion: if you’re going to have limited time, just buy frozen meatballs & make the sauce separately. also, i prefer to put the sauce on the side & let people dip their own.

All of these recipes look delicious, and most of them seem relatively easy. Still, I will almost definitely never make any these things... but here's hoping, right?
